A little about the Melville Temporary Contemporary
The Melville
Temporary Contemporary is a fine art exhibition where local artists, from
Melville, Richmond, Auckland Park, Westdene and Westcliff, open their homes and
studios to the public. A few restaurants and shops also like to get involved in
displaying and selling art. People interested can buy an A3 map (in the form of
a pamphlet) for R5; last year over 40 maps were sold in an “overwhelmingly
positive response”. This year Melville’s Temporary Contemporary will be held
over 3 days: Friday the 17th of May to Sunday the 19th of
May, openings will happen on Thursday evening. Melville’s Temporary Contemporary
also plans to use the new E-Tuk-Tuks to transport people from one venue to the
next.
